Statement on Opel and Diesel Emissions

GM and Opel are convinced that the products referenced in the KBA recall directive do not have defeat devices, and Opel will oppose allegations to the contrary in court. The majority of affected vehicles have already been updated via an ongoing voluntary recall process already initiated by Opel with customers. GM will continue to support Opel to work in good faith with regulators, providing comprehensive documentation and technical information about diesel emissions. Opel already accrued for the cost of the voluntary recall prior to the sale to PSA. At this time, GM expects that the incremental costs of a mandatory recall will be immaterial.
