GM's Winning Portfolio Continues Getting Stronger

Oct 1, 2026

GM continued to see strong demand for its portfolio in the U.S. market in Q3, extending its industry lead in segments like full-size pickups and full-size SUVs and fleet sales, along with record sales of affordable, small SUVs.

GM sales in Q3 totaled 670,974 vehicles, down 6% which reflected the much smaller EV market and discontinued vehicles. However, sales of GM’s highest volume vehicles were in line with the outstanding level of a year ago.

“Our business is performing very well, the launch of our next-generation full-size pickup trucks is on track, and we are making investments in new vehicles, innovative technologies, and our U.S. manufacturing footprint to drive our next phase of growth.” - Duncan Aldred, President of GM North America.

GM’s top five best-selling vehicles (Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Equinox, Chevrolet Traverse and Chevrolet Trax) continue to demonstrate multiple years of growth based on strong consumer demand.

GM also extended its lead in full-size pickups, and in Q4 the next-generation 2027 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra are scheduled to begin arriving in dealerships.

GM’s portfolio strength extends beyond trucks. The family of affordable, small SUVs – led by the award-winning Chevrolet Trax and Buick Envista – had its best quarterly sales ever in Q3.

Key Q3 sales highlights:

  • GMC: Sierra is on track for its second-best calendar year, and the midsize Canyon pickup had its best quarter ever.
  • Chevrolet: Trax sales were up 16%, Trailblazer had its best Q3 sales ever since 2007 and Corvette sales were up 29%.
  • Buick: Total brand sales were up 8% in Q3 and the brand’s small SUVs (Envista and Encore GX) are on pace to have their second-best calendar year.
  • Cadillac: Expanded its lead of the luxury EV market, growing by 1.3 percentage points CYTD through August. It was also the best-ever Q3 for the CT5 Blackwing, keeping it on pace for its best year ever.
  • GM Fleet: Led the industry in sales for the fourth consecutive quarter driven by strong pickup truck demand from commercial customers
